Even with all of the current travel deals enticing some families to get out and see the sites, there are still many families not yet ready to venture out into the unknown. For those of you confined by choice, or obligation to your home, here’s a tested list of date night adventures for you and your favorite person to enjoy from your couch.
With a growing number of landmarks, museums and vacation spots increasing access through virtual tours, shows and live feeds, we are able to treat ourselves to exciting adventures without leaving the safety of our homes.
1. Disney Lover’s Unite
The memories of theme parks, water rides and roller coasters flood our thoughts, we’ve got to get our fix somehow! Check out these Youtube videos featuring some of your favorite rides and adventures!

2. Brush-up on your Art History
We took a virtual tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and I can say, we were not disappointed!
3. To Paris With Lourve
While my paintings and artistic talents leave much to be desired, you can tour the Lourve and really feel like you’re taking in a piece of Paris!
4. Visit Vatican City
One of the many places on our travel bucket list is Italy, and that wouldn’t be complete without a tour of the history and beauty of Vatican City!
5. Discover DC
Visit the nation’s capital from the comfort of your couch! Wear your pajamas to the White House, or simply take a self-guided tour of the Smithsonian without bumping into strangers or wearing a mask.
6. Majestic Monterey Bay Aquarium
Enjoy the serenity of watching the live feed of jelly fish while you sip on a glass of your favorite wine. Kick your feet up on the ottoman and relax into the ocean feels and sounds without putting on a wetsuit.
7. San Diego Safari
The San Diego Zoo is often regarded as the best in the country, and this can be said both for adults and kids alike. So if you need something fun for the kids, or you want to wait until they’re in bed, find your favorite zoo animals and click the link to their videos.
8. Salute to US National Parks
This collection of virtual tours is the closest thing to IRL that we have gotten to accessing all of the National Parks. Though we’ve done our fair share of walking trails and short hikes to keep active during these past few months, our surroundings don’t compare to that of our pristine National Parks. Jump on a tour of YellowStone, followed seamlessly by the Grand Canyon, and so on. Learn about what to expect when you actually get to see them on your future travels.
9. Go to the Galapagos
Dreaming of Island Vibes this summer? I had the fortune of traveling to these incredible islands in my teens, and haven’t stopped talking about it since. The best way to experience that island air is always in person, but until we’re sure travel is safe, this Youtube video will bring you close!
10. Tune into The Metropolitan Opera
I’ll be completely honest, the Opera has never appealed to me, but it was easy to gain an appreciation for the art and talent after enjoying a unique date night with the hubby. This is definitely one that I recommend when you’re sick of scrolling through the same Netflix movies and series for the 10th night in a row…
11. Be Amazed at Buckingham Palace
You may not be able to have a staring contest with the guards, but we can tell you that the virtual tour of Buckingham Palace was incredible!
